I can't believe I just saw that! Not even an L-turn. Maybe it wasn't going to eat but you've gotta at least keep the bait in the water to give it a chance.
From what I saw... the right move was to get the bait out of the water and cast back immediately. Based on the wake and boil at the boat, it ...

Thanks for an honest reply. We've got really good numbers lakes around here so I think he'd really like that. Besides, we're certainly not strangers to getting skunked.
thanks again

Peavy and some other U.P. lakes
Hi,
I'm from the central ohio chapter and I was just wondering if anyone has any opinions on Peavy, or Black, ect......My dads making a july trip I think. If anyone cares to share a spot or a lake I can certainly help with some march/april ohio spots if youre interested.
thanks

LOTW hazards
I can go zipping through the nestor falls area because i've bumped a few rocks up there and I know where most of them are. Once you get a few square miles figured out, you cant beat 'the woods'. It took us two years to venture more than 8 miles from camp, and to be honest, you usually don't need to ...

mast?
Excellent! Thats what I'm after. Could you elaborate on the mast Will? The trolling i've done is contour trolling 1000 acre lakes. This is all new to me as far as the big water trolling but I want to get into for sure. Will the fish all cedar boards pull a 10" jake/original depth raider @ 6-7 mph ...

Boards on LSC
I'm wondering what you experienced guys use for boards. Are there any real simple boards like the walleye guys use for this without riggers?

LOTW
Sabaskong bay and LOTW in general is figure 8 boot camp. In five years up there i've gone from not believing in it, to someone that does a half circle after every cast and figure 8's every cast early in the morning and late in the evening. Sabaskong produces numbers and size. Everyone says that ...

muskie trips
10 days on Sabaskong bay, LOTW in July. :) I wouldn't miss that trip for the world. I've never fished LSC and I plan to do alot of 2-4 day trips in august and september of this year.

buying a year old leftover boat
Yup, thats what I did and I saved a ton of money. I got my 04 1750 fishhawk fully loaded with 55pd minnkota, lowrance x-51, extra pedastal seat, two batteries, and the 75hp Yamaha 4-stroke for $14,000 with the trailer. I bought it in july of 05 and I figure I saved an honest $2500-4000 over an 05 ...

opti's
You're probably right about the Merc's. I've heard both good and bad. My Yamaha has been trouble free, very fuel effecient and super quiet. My 1750 tops out at about 37-38mph fully loaded with the 75hp-4stroke.

I bought a 2004 1750 Fish Hawk this year with a 75hp 4-stroke yammie and I love it. I should've got the 1850 with at least a 115 optimax but hind site is 20/20. Lots of room, enough for 3 guys casting, and very stable ride. I've had it in 4-5 foot rollers on chautauqua and it did great.
