Yes, anglers use spinning rods for muskies in certian applications, mostly jigging reapers,tubes and lizards, you can even get by with bucktails and prop style surface lures but I wouldn't recommend it. Concentrate your efforts early and late in the day(night) to avoid extremely heavy recreational boat traffic during the day or hope for crappy weather. Long is Gin bottle clear and July is not the best month to fish muskies there to say the least.
