We were out last Sat. and LSC was still 65-67 degrees everywhere we went in Anchor Bay and North Channel areas, so it should still be good there for a bit. Haven't had time to post a good report yet, but it was still very springlike, weed growth is still far behind for this time of year, but the ree...

Nothing good over this way that's near a musky lake, even if you call around, be very specific about how big you want them because lots of folks think the 6-7 inchers are huge. Holden's party store in Milford occasionally has some, but if the kids are working the counter, you sometimes have to prod ...

Almost all stations on this side of the state have had ethanol for quite some time. Lots of info at boatus.com http://my.boatus.com/forum/forum_topics.asp?FID=142&PN=1 and there might even be a thread in here somewhere if you do a search. Keep up with your routine maintenance & don't ignore symptoms...

Scott tried the Berkley crystal and didn't like it. Don't remember why though, so if I get the details, I'll let you know.

http://freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20071115/NEWS05/711150353 The discovery of the highest level of the feared chemical compound dioxin ever in the Great Lakes region has prompted the EPA to order an emergency cleanup in the Saginaw River in Saginaw and the state to issue new warnings about...

Any other type of disinfectant that would work? I'd be a little leary about spraying even a little bleach on a braided line, wouldn't that weaken the fibers?

zebra mussel eradication

Saw a summary article on this in an industry mag. today. Seems pretty expensive, but successful. The links got some great background & further info. too. http://www.dgif.state.va.us/zebramussels/ To kill the zebra mussels through exposure to potassium, the entire quarry was injected with 174,000 gal...

We stayed in Cheboygan in June this year on our way up to the UP (near these lakes) and they had a bass tournament on one of them during the weekend we were there, so heavy fishing pressure for bass during that week, but apparently all the anglers did pretty good. If you want to PM me with your cont...

Scott got a tracker before he started fishing for musky, but it's been ok for that too. There's a few things he doesn't like about this older model that they have worked to improve (battery placement, rod lockers, bigger livewell's etc.) From those we have looked at, the motor that they sell with mo...

What a sobering reminder. My handle's a joke, don't get so comfortable on your safety protocol that you make it true for anyone! Be careful guys, even on water you know, especially after dark.
