The great lakes would be a fine place to start!! But if you want to narrow it down you should look at LSC, the St. Mary's river or the big clear lakes in the northern lower penninsula. Look at the recent master angler awards to find out different places where the GL strain lives.

I put a power handle on mine and use it for small bucktails and and twitching small cranks!! I love it.
