Re: March Everglades Tarpon Trip, again....
Yeah, I fish with Cpt. Jon Sebold of SFP Fishing Outfitters but he's down in the Marco Island area. Only 40 minutes from Ft. Meyers. March is fantastic Tarpon Fishing in the Everglades and Marco Island area. You should really try and book a day with him. You won't regret it....especially in March!

March Everglades Tarpon Trip, again....
Got back down for my annual March Tarpon Plugging/Fly March Trip in the Everglades. Landed in 65 degree weather with a nasty coldfront and overnight lows expected to be around 48 degrees. I had the chance to stay on Marco Island and get some work done or go fishing. We knew most of the Tarpon would ...

I swear....you will not be disappointed!! Go in March when you can Fly and Plug for them. Fly when it's calm in morning and wind is down. They'll be laid up everywhere. If wind picks up then cast plugs. Both ways...you win! Imagine landing a giant Tarpon on fly in the morning and then landing a few ...

Oh yeah....when I was fighting the 135#er, she pulled us around a bend and there sitting on the bank where there was an opening of mangroves was a 10 foot gator. Just chilling and enjoying the sun. I saw maybe 10-15 over two days in the Glades. Most were 7-8 foot or bigger. Didn't see any snakes but...

3rd Tarpon trip to Everglades
Well I just got back from my 3rd trip to the Everglades chasing giant fall Tarpon with plugs. Again I fished with the only real guide who chases these fish very deep in Everglades. 3 trips and yet to see another boat while being surrounded by more adult Tarpon then you can dream of. Captian Jon Sebo...

The area I was in is without a doubt a fisherman's and family man's paradise!! The best part was the resort "South Seas" was amazing and had so much to offer for everyone and this time of year it's not crowded at all! At times it Felt like you had to pool(s), fishing dock, shops, bars, etc to yourse...

That's awesome!! Yeah, it was awesome and I was definitely surprised of the fighting power of a 40" Snook. Amazing jumping ability and peeling line like nothing... Yes, I'm now cursed with Saltwater bug and my mind is racing on how I can get back down there ASAP!! Your right Will.... Freshwater fish...

Steve, The gators pretty much leave ya alone and we didn't see any snakes but they are loaded in there. I was curious about the extinction of Florida Panthers and Captain Jon Sebold said there are a few left and he saw one last year in the glades crossing a bay and then run up a tree. It's just an a...

Muskie Tatics payoff in Saltwater
I just got back from a week long vacation on Captiva Island, Florida with the family. We were at a gorgeous resort called South Seas. I brought my Muskie gear down to mess around experimenting in Saltwater. Every night schools of big 15-30# Snook would come in to the docks and feed under the lights....

At first I was excited about this tourney and was going to fish it. As time went on I just lost interest. I do prefer a point system like the PMTT but everytime something like this happens on my home water I just find myself pushing away from the tourney's. Maybe I'm spoiled by being able to fish we...

I love my 101 Maxxum and the responsiveness of turning quickly but it's a pain in the ass in heavy winds or in really fast current on LSC. I can see the IPilot being great to spot-lock once a fish is hooked, landed etc in the heavy current. Or to fish without having to touch the pedal or motor after...

Go with Jon Bondy if your looking for a LSC/Detroit River guide. The guy has fished this system for 30 years and guided for 18 years. He doesnt just jig and will cast as well. Spencer would be another option but I would want a guy who has put some serious time on this system. Jon and several other g...

Talk to Jeff (EsoxFly). The guy makes fly's like crazy and is good at it! He's torturing himself right by strictly flyfishing until fall kicks in. Just saw him the other day on the water and he showed me some of his fly's in the water and I was impressed! They look so sweet in the water with the "st...
