Not sure if you are a muskies inc member, but joining the club (Chapter 47 Michigan Muskie Alliance) will give you access to fishing reports, and wealth of great information on the forum here. Also, be leary of fishing with water temps getting over 80... fish have a harder time recouping in hot wate...

I like those Blue Fox bucktails, but this time of year.... speed kills. Don't neglect to reel them in as fast as possible at times.
Hitting that spot at lowlight, or dark will give you an aadvantage as stated as well. After dark, I prefer a medium to slow retrieve.

I still reported a skunking, just left all the parts about catching blank.

Will, do they not want skunkings reported? I know I get skunked more often than I catch fish... seems to me they are just as important to report as catches.

You must have the tag prior. The tag must be used when possession of the fish has occured. Any fish on a stringer, rope, livewell should have the tag on it. Same as harvesting a deer, bear, turkey, etc...

Mornings, afternoons, evenings, after dark. You can catch fish at all times. Best time to fish... whenever you can!

Got one on a slasher yesterday.

I like the Revo line of reels from Abu. Low profile is much easier on my hands. I plan on buying a few more to have them on all my rods when I have the funds.

Matteson (sp?), on the south end of Gun has done good work for me in the past on my Mariner 20.

Loosen the drag after setting the hook, if you play them right you will be fine. Otherwise experiment with hooks. Some of the best in this club have different hooks on most of their baits than what come standard.
