I don't think many people have gone in for the duck lure... My guess is any surface lure would be just as effective as the true match-the-hatch variety though. Actually, when ducklings are spooked and scooting for cover- merganser and goldeneye ducklings do this especially- they look & sound remarka...

Yup- so you clamp the thumb down tight during the hookset, but then you can feed out line if the fish needs it by controlling the freespool with your thumb. A thrashing big fish at boatside with no line out usually results in a victory for the muskie! Some reels are very difficult to push the button...

Dale Hey what is up man!!! You know we musky fishermen have always have the solution. So if they are married to Thorn for the GLS broodstock, all we have to do is net all the fish out and do a nice and easy adult transplant. Then the GLS can go in without competing with the established NMUS hogs!!!!...

Jason's got it. No concern with the tagging being the cause of mortality. Although... you know what I bet the handling during the process might do in a few right off the bat, but I doubt enough to matter. I understand the reasons, but it would still be great to just start fresh with a new lake! But ...

No adults are being removed from St Clair and put inland, it will be an egg take only. Yes, it is no problem PIT tagging the fall fingerlings. Except the cost & manpower for installing PIT tags in all those little fish that are not going to survive... Even if those PIT tags are dirt cheap there sti...

Joe, there was an article in Musky Hunter back in 2008 written by Steve Gensen on a lot of the differences that he has observed fishing both Wisconsin and Minnesota waters. There were some differences like the GLS are pack feeders, and there are more intense feeding windows, whereas the barred were...

Hey I just wanted to encourage everyone to take your time and craft a thoughtful response about the information and goals in these plans. Not that anyone here would, but don't don't just fire off a "please stock muskies in my backyard" or something. For example, do you agree that "Michigan statewide...
