Please forgive this ignorant and selfish question but for those who have caught plenty of both, would you say they are essentially the same in habits, difficulty to catch, etc.? I've had very little experience with the GLS and was hoping that they weren't even tougher than the Northern Strain, but ...

Not a really big lake by any means at only 350 acres. We should be sure to note the already unsatisfied people who fish there so in 15 yrs they can't blame it on the muskies. http://www.fishingworks.com/lakes/michi ... bear-lake/

Most LP lakes don't have ANY muskie-friendly spawning habitat. Didn't John say the preferred habitat for GLS spawning was Chara? (I forget the other name he called it). I know TONS of lakes that I fish that are abundant with Chara. On the flip side, the Northern Strain needs more wood, like fallen ...

So I'm assuming that they aren't concerned with the two strains intermingling. And do they have enough info to say the stclair fish are similar enough to the elk and black chains' to let them intermingle??? Your answer can be found under the "Projects" topics. That is what we are applying for grant...

Adam, you need to come to the banquet this Saturday, talk to a bunch of the guy's and get some good baits. Welcome to the sickness!! I second what Steve said. You are just in time to meet almost everyone in the club, learn some things, and get a ton of great baits. Doesn't happen in one pla...

The "little arcade room" conjures images of Chuck E. Cheese and is off-putting, though. My kids are both in their 20s now, and I'm done with that! It worked out GREAT for us. Something for the kids to do while I'm letting the pizza in my gullet settle so I could have some more. It's better t...

Re: low profile
Does anybody ever use a low profile baitcaster for muskie fishing? I was watching a fishing show and a pro fisherman was using what he said was his bass fishing reel with heavy line on it. I used to use an Abu Revo that is a bass reel spooled with 50lb Power Pro on it. My brother still uses his for...
