If Will doesn't have anything then I have an 8'6 Heavy Gander Mountain rod that I could part with for pretty cheap. I used it for a year and is a good rod, but now is just sitting in my basement so I could definitely let it go for a newbie musky guy.

Let the fish determine the size of the lure you use regardless of the size of the water. No need to downsize at all! These fish love big baits and have no trouble eating them. You just have to get some confidence in throwing bigger baits and you will have success. What lake are you fishing exactly?

That would be pretty cool, but even if I just have it on a regular tripod it would still get good footage as it's such a wide angle lens.
