My favorite started out as a garden variety dog-eating musky hanging around the park in Thornapple. But after several dogs, the musky attacked a human swimmer, which finally got the attention of the DNR (and presumably Chief Brody). The DNR came in and electroshocked the musky, which also was 84" by...

Don't forget Ross Lake in Beaverton too. Most of those fish were flushed down into Wixom when Ross was completely emptied for dam repairs a couple years ago, but muskies were restocked in 2011 (of course those are still just babies though). It's tough to get a good comparison b/w the lakes because: ...

They were so rude to say the least. I was not ready for that I think I said 2 words a...

GREAT meeting tonight- big thanks to all who came! It was a good, lively discussion that took the entire 2 hours. At the conclusion, each person in attendance was asked to give their stance on the whether to stock and manage Gun for muskies, or not. The most often repeated phrase was "I came in here...

To quote a friend in DNR-Fisheries I talked to this week about the Gun public meeting:

"hope you can make it and bring a couple hundred fishing buddies"

Just a reminder to PLEASE COME!!! Water is hot down here, take a couple hours of that would-be fishing time and invest it in the future, and in a fishery with great potential. The DNR puts a lot of stake in the feedback it gets from the public- this is your opportunity to be heard. Even if you don't...

I think its time to go lure shopping! Here's my opinion: on Dawgs- for St. Clair- definite must have all year, Ovid- moderately important beginning June or so, Sanford- somewhat important beginning Juneish or if you want to devote time to fishing the channel. And for jerkbaits, St. Clair- moderately...

I agree with the "What If Factor". Plus it should help the DNR get a more accurate count of those who chase Muskies or at least have the potential to catch one. In my mind this helps justify their management and the benefits of all their hard work and fiscal expenses for GL Muskies as well as keep ...

In probably each and every lake directly connected to the Great Lakes, there are at least some part time muskies setting up shop for a while, and probably a few even settling in for the long term. In some places there might even be a small reproducing population that could go all but unnoticed. Just...
