I heard there were/are holding a bunch of muskie in Lake Macatawa to be released. Anyone know anything about this ?

There were 25,000 spring fingerlings stocked in July, I would assume that's where the story came from.

There are already 40-45" (maybe bigger) from previous stockings started in 2012. Some of the fish from this years stocking could be over 40" in 5 years.

I probably have more hours on it than all other club members combined the past few years, and have had limited success. 3 years ago my boat saw 7 fish landed. However, the past 2 years have resulted in just one contact.
Now, I am not the best angler in the club so I am sure others may have had more success in that time... but I am no slouch either.
It is a tough nut.... water quality isn't great, and the biomass of fish is incredible so they are usually full and not looking to hunt in my opinion. It is worth fishing, but I wouldn't have big expectations.
