Opening Weekend

Post by jasonvkop » Mon May 01, 2006 6:21 pm

How was everyones opening weekend? Whered you fish and howd you do? I went out to Murray with my brother and dad on saturday for about 6 hours or so. We landed 2, lost 2 others and caught 2 largemouths as well. Nothing huge, biggest was a 30" iowa. Saw quit a few boats out there though and saw a couple boats land some as well, in fact I thought i saw todd frank land one right by us, but not quit sure if it was him.

Hey Jason- it was great to be out there pitchin plugs in Michigan again! Weather was extremely pleasant, and favorable for making for active muskies too. I only got to fish on Saturday, but I need to get back out there soon because with the early spring this year those fish are in full swing right now, which isn't the case many years.

Hey all, this is my first post as I just found this site. This is my first year musky fishin and I too went to Murray for opening day. I got my first musky ever a 40" that hit right at the boat and am addicted. Talked to a few other boats too (perhaps members of this site) and it sounded like they at least had an encounter or two. I went back out there thurs and landed a lil 30 incher and had a much bigger fish follow at the boat. Man what a rush cant wait to get back out there!
