planer boards

Anyone ever attempt to make the smaller single ski planer boards, like the Yellow Birds? I made a set of dual ski boards from plans online last spring. Never used them after the spring fishing in Lk. Michigan for trout. Take up ALOT of room in the boat. Just was wondering about the small boards.....thanks.
