Post by biiigfish32 » Wed Jul 28, 2010 10:18 pm

I was catfishing the thornapple river, I was on my way back, watching a big moscrat swim along a weed bed then out of the blue, something came up a just destroyed it. There was no struggle to be seen I didnt see the fish, but wa=hatever it was it hit a big target and must have killed it rite away. craziest thing ive ever seen fishing!

That would've been a cool sight to see! About 15 yrs ago, while at Gun Lake, we saw a pike or muskie take out 4 ducklings and then try for the mama. We could see it lurking below the surface in the channel in Robbins Bay. I would guess around a mid-40" fish.

At which point in this story did you tear home, grab your muskie rod, and throw on the biggest topwater you could find?
If I'm not going to catch fish. I might as well not be catching Muskies...

I quick went around in my bag, I had the big jitterbug topwater but no leaders with me. Another cool thing is that I motored on over there about 30 seconds after it happened and it was only 1 foot of water, but there was a big drop off along side the weeds

To paraphrase the USAF motto: "Death from below."
Alcohol and calculus don't mix —
Don't drink and derive.
