FYI there are some rule changes coming in the Cheboygan River chain, but I don't know the details. See what comes out of the NRC meeting.

No opposition as far as I heard. They seem to be a step ahead of most people in Northern Michigan in that area when it comes to conservation.

The change to Fo-223 reads something like this:
During the month of April and May it will be unlawful to;
(1) Take or attempt to take any species of fish with a spear, bow and arrow or gaff hook or Cheboygan Rivers in Cheboygan County.

(2) Take or attempt to take any species of fish from the Black River from Kleber Dam downstream to Red Bridge in Section 5, T35N, R1E, in Cheboygan County.

Basically a spawning closure for those species in that river.

I think we need to plant sturgeon in all of our muskie waters!

FYI John, When we upgraded our Remedial Action Plans (RAPs) for Muskegon Lake and White Lake we did put your idea in print. For native reintroduction we listed the GLS muskellunge, sturgeon, walleye, and white bass.
