Let down lake???

What Michigan lake have you fished that you were expecting great things from and it let you down??? I would have to say for me it is Secord and Skegmog. Just curious about what others have to say. Murphy Lake is also a bummer I haven't seen a musky there in years :lol:

Lake Hudson......but it wasn't the lake. The weather was super hot for october 1st.

Campau should be better in my opinion.The stocking numbers are good,
but I cant seem to find any fish there.

The let down lakes for me are the lakes I haven't fished yet.

Why don't you come over here and fish Secord or Smallwood!!! Just to see what they are like.

If he's going to drive that far he might as well make the drive to
LSC where there are more fish and he has a legitimate chance at a 50".

I know but I want to see if anybody other than McGorge can score on these lakes. I am pretty sure he is the only person I know that has caught a musky on Secord, and nobody to my knowledge has caught one on Smallwood.

I have had some decent action on Secord. Early in the year up high in the little bayous.

wow, thanks for that I didn't think anybody ever fished Secord. I guess there is alot of stuff I don't know.

Yeah I know of 2 guys that have spent a good chunk of time on Secord. They have some fish to show for it, but their numbers are still too slim to get me up there (like 1 sighting for every 6-8 trips, better in the spring). On a sidenote they have nailed many 30"+, fat pike. Things will get better though...

Michelle and I were not very impressed with Ross. Dirty water it seems to be a little bit of a mud hole. Probably has some good fish in it. I dont love casting for hours enough to go there again for a few years. Secord was a nice lake but we fished it early in the year and did not go up far enough. Round was not very fun either as the launch sucked and we only had onre follow in a whole day. Kingfisher

Mixed reviews on Ross, the first time we were there we boated 2 fish in the first 10 minutes and saw 5 others over the coarse of the next 3 hours. Haven't seen a fish there since.

Secord is full of pike and largemouth that are very aggressive but I don'tthink I have given the muskies an adequate shot.

Smallwood ought to be easy but I have only been there once.

Wixom, well maybe this year I can drive the extra 8 minutes from Sanford!!!

I would have to say Bankson as of the last few years........and thornapple has always been a thorn in my side....alll or none,,,although I still like thorn...caught my largest Michigan muskie(47)besides my big tiger,I need to fish it more than once or twice a year.I saw my largest muskie ever sitting in the river section....prop or wound mark on its back,touched her on the head with my rod tip...........easily 40 lbs.+scarey................

I will have to agree with Nstagator on Bankson. Somewhat of a let down but at least the fish you do get are getting fatter.

I would have to agree with Ross. It's a mud pit, besides that "one good day" nothing else but pike.. I guess we could have had follows and never even seen them because of the water clarity.
Hopefully it will turn around some day.
