Hello all,

Well I still have not yet been able to make the voyage to LSC to fish for the big boys in the fall this year. I am working too much and school is killing me, on the bright side I have been kicking serious arss on the PM salmon, infact this might be my best year there. I know the run was bass akwards this year and up and down. But I did pretty well and it has kept me from chasing muskie. Well i am taking my last PM trip next weds, going to drag the old' man down with me and let him tangle with a few.
Nowwww Onto muskie.. QUESTION - How long will the fall muskie fishing be good on say, sanford? LSC? or other lakes in the area??? I am going to get back to fishing for ol' esox but am not sure about fall fishing, being that I have never really done fall fishing for muskie. So like i said I was curious to how long the fishing will be good in sanford lake, or like LSC?
any info would be cool - Thanks

I will fish LSC until the ice comes, or the season closes which is Dec 15.

Fall fishing for Muskies can be great as we proved last fall when we caught 52 muskies from September 1st to december 5th. The weather can be very cold and nasty. One November trip we had to run from Anchor bay to the Thames river mouth on Lake St. Claire. The temp. was 29 degrees in the morning. The ride was brutally cold but we went 6 for 10 that day. This year we are not fishing as often. We are working on perfecting the use of Suckers with quick striking and so far have put three in the boat in the last two weekends. I have come up with a rig that will release from the sucker allowing me to get a good hook set . Next year we will need this extra tool in our quest for 200 muskies in one year. We start in Kentucky Feb. 2006 then on to Ohio in March/april. We will also be in Indiana in April. All the Michigan inland lakes can be very good just before and just after turnover. Look for fish to move shallow on warmer days and look everywhere after turnover. Fish can and will go to great depths when the dead water rises to the top and mixes with the upper water layers. Use deep running cranks to reach deep fish located with your electronics. Cold weather and cold water are better conditions for good releases but still take care to get them back quickly.
