rods

JP, I have been using the Cabelas Whuppin Stick heavy rods that are 8' long. They work great matched with Okuma 30 line counter reels. Been using this combo for about 8 years and not a problem. The rods go for aobut $29 bucks I think....Scott

Lake Mighigan is in big trouble and all the adjoining waters if this isn't stopped now. Too much red tape to get it done in a timely matter and the clock is ticking....my 2 cents worth..

planer board trolling

I was wondering for those that troll with planer boards, which type do you like.?? For the inlines I have both Off Shore and Church walleye boards. I also have a mast and folding boards. I usually just fish Murray and like the idea of getting a better spread. I think the mast is a bit overkill for M...

I use my 10 wt Sage and a 10 wt Scientific Anglers Mastery 10 wt Musky line. Casts very well and I like the red color of the line. My favorite fly is the Dahlberg Diver in white with a red tail. I have tied a few of my own, but they are not as good as professionally tied ones. I have found some good...

fly leader

Been away for a while and this is kinda late, but I have been using tyger wire for my limited fly fishing forays. Seems to work good, just no fish to verify it for me. I have used tyger wire for conventional muskie fishing and it has worked well..Scott

Fly Fishing for Muskies

I am ready to try flyfishing for muskie. Just a quick question about leaders. I was going to run a straight section of Fluorocarbon, anyone use anything else? Thanks, Scott

I have used the tyger wire with a lot of success, tying instructions are on the package. Either use a split ring or a Berkley snap. Use a good ball bearing swivel on the other end. I have used regular seven strand with sleeves and crimping it with either just a loop for a split ring or snap. I reall...

Leaders

Just curious what everyone is using for a basic jerkbait leader or bucktail leader? I pretty much use Terminator leaders or ones I make myself.

rod holders

I put Bert tracks on my Crestliner this spring and love them. I broke 3 rod holders last year and luckily didnt lose any rods. They are simple to install and look good too. They come in all different lengths. I was able to set up 2 down east rod holders on the adapters and they work great, they also...
