The new Revo Toro 60's will be out in September, they will have the 5:4 gear ratio again! Slightly less than a TE and more comfortable to fish with, and just as durable. I wouldn't bother with a Saltist IMO unless, you want to use one for a copper reel for Salmon....

Pretty neat, I just have a Gorilla Pod tripod, I wrap it around my steering wheel or tuck the legs inside one Bert rod holders and it works pretty good.

Probably not match the line recovered but, you can still move dbl 10's plenty fast with a 5:4 Toro. The power handles on those big Saltwater reels seem to cramp my fingers up because you actually have to wrap you fingers around them. And with the long double paddle handle on a Toro there is really n...

I liked my Saltist for a bit, then after 3 broken springs I finally found that they are not designed for casting.... Uncomfortable reels, IMO you can do everything with a 5:4 Revo Toro 60. Power to crank on fish and pull dbl 10's with ease.

I've always stripped line off by hand if needed whether its with a spinning reel, trolling reel or a casting reel. Might not be the best technique but I've always done that ice fishing, trolling salmon/walleyes, and musky fishing, worked so far.

Flouro leaders 130 and 150 are great for straight baits, and 200lb single strand for everything else.

Would you rather have the fish rest in the net or freak out? IMO a super green fish in the net could do more damage to itself than a slighty tired fish. The last fish I netted was in the net very quickly, the fish fought more in the net than normal, and no I didn't pick the net up, one loose hook in...

For as sweet as Church boards pull a full core and copper in rough water you would think that they handle most muskie baits. Never have had a board release, one church clip (the best board release) and a speed bead ahead of the lure just in case, point the rod directly at the board when it nears the...

I don't think you can even let kids getting broke off worry you, I think people tossing any lures (bass guys) kill more pike and muskies accidentally. Do you know how bass guys I have talked to that all have a bunch of bite off stories, witnessed one last year on a muskie probably over 20lbs. Couldn...

Ahh the ol quick link those things are great, use them for trapping in a little smaller size and they hold coyotes in legholds great, so they are very tough.
