We are just about a month out from the May 31st outing at Lake Ovid. Since Bomba and I are supplying the food we want to try to get a handle on how much to buy. Accordingly, could you please reply to this post if you plan to attend and let me know how many will be in your group? Below is more info o...

Sanford still has ice but it is breaking up and ice free in the high current river channel areas. Sanford was down 6 to 8 feet until yesterday when they started holding water back. It is pretty close to being full pool right now. If we have 40's all the rest of this week my guess is ice out by early...

I seriously can not even fathom using a spinning rod for muskies other than to throw jigs. When I first moved to the Midwest I used spinning rods like I used for saltwater, worked fine for a while but the more bass ansd pike fishing I did with my buddies the more I realized that they were more acura...

Chicago Show--Ace Baits

Here is a shout out for ACE Baits USA who has been a strong supporter of MMA over the years including donating lures to the club for raffles and the like. See below the relevant portions of an e-mail I received from Phil Griffins of ACE Baits USA re: their appearance, yet again, at the Chicago Musky...

I can't help myself so I have to add one more thing. Steve, you are correct, I am certainly NOT against pollution being cleaned up and I think you at least understand a bit where I'm coming from. Again, I didn't mean for this post to be personal as to anyone but since I spend more time at work then ...

By the way, again I must stress I am speaking for myself and my words in no way should be contributed to my employer nor do I have any more information about this issue other than what I get from public available sources. Having said that I want to stress that Dow has gone out of its way to address ...

I give up. Now we are likening the Dioxin in the Saginaw River to Agent Orange. Yes, Dioxins are in agent orange...by the way they are also coming out of the tail pipe of your car. Has anyone ever mentioned to the masses that dose makes the poison. To suggest that the Dioxins at the levels at which ...

Steve not only do fish have dioxin levels in them but so does every human being on the planet including yourself. Dioxin is a natural by-product of buring things and results from almost every process utilized by man not the least of which is auto emissions. Everything we eat has levels of Dioxin in ...

Since there aren't elevated dioxin levels in the fish and wildlife sampled so far and the stuff has been in the river since the early 1900's I still fail to see how any additional degredation can possibly have an appreciable inpact on wildlife in the future. That is aside from the politics involved ...

I agree we need clean water but the pollution isn't happening now, it happened back in the early 1900's. Leave it be, you can't remediate this stuff without causing more damage. A Dioxin hotspot in 13 feet of water is no threat to anyone and hasn't been since it got there in the eraly 1900's. Don't ...

The Dioxin has been in the system since the early 1900's now all of a sudden this is a big health issue? Taking this stuff out of the river is going to make things worse than simply leaving well enough alone. Mark my words.
