I sent Griffin a copy and a friend of mine raised this with him. He did an article a number of years ago that the Dark House Association took offense to and he got a lot of heat about it as a result. Bottom line is Steve is gun shy to get in the middle of this.

That was my hope that if my letter was read by one person and it gets him/her to think about this and become more educated, then I did my job. At the end of the day, we can not stop anyone from legally taking a musky no matter how painful that might be. However, we can all try to do our part to educ...

Sanford Muskies

Below is the text of a letter to the editor that I submitted that was printed in the Midland Daily News yesterday. I want to thank Pete Lebaron for his suggestions to my draft. I am a lakefront property owner and avid musky fisherman. It has come to my attention that a number of trophy muskies (48 i...

Watch the local Midland papers for a press release today. I am involved with a newly formed organization, The Sanford Lake Preservation Association (SLPA), which consists of local homeowners and interested parties. The SLPA has secured funding to complete the remaining repairs needed and, if Boyce H...

New MMA Gear Coming Soon!!!!!

I'm getting excited about a new line of MMA merchandise that will be available soon and I just can’t keep it to myself any longer. MMA member John Gillman and his company ATS Printing (big supporters of MMA) will be making a new line of MMA gear available through the MMA web page to members and non-...

I stopped by the Sanford Park launch last night and it looks usable now althought there are still signs at the enterance saying the beach and launch are closed due to low water. No doubt in a week or less the lake will be usable again although my bet is the Sanford Lake Marina launch may be a bit of...

Nice fish Dennis. You and I met at the Aim Tourney in Bay City. I sit on the Steering Committee with Mike Kelly. Make sure you tell Mike that you finally caught more than baitfish.

Happy to do it guys and thank you all for toughing out a tricky weather morning. Next time I'll have to plan on bringing breakfast food which would have hit the spot for the 1 1/2 hrs we spent hiding from the T-storm. [smilie=brickwall.gif]

Sorry, been in Canada and am just catching up here. Sanford is down about 4 feet now and not accessable as both launches are high and dry. Even if you have a small aluminum boat on the lake like I do, you had best know where you are going or you will take out an engine. The Homeowners association, m...

I'm about a month late on this but better late than never. I hired Will for a day about a month ago. We moved a couple of fish but for the most part it was a tough day. Nevertheless, it was a great day given what I learned. When I hired Will I told him that I wanted to make this more a tutorial/hand...

Don't you think that whomever is reading Musky Hunter and fishes in Michigan already knows Murray has muskies? It's not like a photo of one 40 incher in MHM is going to draw a crowd from MN.
