Boundary Waters Musky Club Annual Expo/Banquet Invite

Post by IM Musky Time » Thu Jan 31, 2013 8:32 pm

Hey Guys,

Wanted to post an official invite on the forum if anyone's interested in a winter road trip to the U.P. Some slight arm twisting possibly could also lead to an ice fishing expedition during the trip. We have a great lineup this year, and the more the merrier.

BOUNDARY WATERS MUSKY CLUB

**February 1st---For Immediate Release**

The Boundary Waters Musky Club will be holding its 5th annual Expo and Annual Meeting on Saturday, February 23rd, at the Econo Lodge in Iron Mountain, Michigan. The event will feature a tackle swap, prize raffles, and a number of guest speakers. The public is welcome to attend and FREE door prizes, including a musky rod and tackle, will be given away! Speakers run from roughly 11-4 CST with the Annual Meeting of the Club to follow. This year’s speaker lineup will include:
*Aquatic Invasive Species Expert Ann Hruska---11 a.m. CST
Trends and concerns with area aquatic invasive species and ways
anglers can help reduce the spread.

*MI DNR Regional Fisheries Supervisor Jessica Mistak---12:15 CST
Current and future muskellunge management issues in Upper Michigan and opportunities for partnerships.

*WI DNR Fisheries Biologist Chip Long 1:15 CST
Current and future muskellunge management issues in NE Wisconsin and opportunities for partnerships.

*Musky Guide Dan Lazzeroni 2:00 CST
Tips and tactics for getting kids involved in musky fishing!

* Tournament Pro Jeff Van Remortel---Featured Speaker 3:00 CST
Strategies on the water from one of the most successful musky fishermen of 2012. Jeff is the winner of the Alliance National Championship, where he set a record with 6 fish caught in the largest musky tournament in the world. He also had over 100 muskies in the boat this year and will talk about strategies for targeting the apex predators. An accomplished all-around hunter and fisherman, we are very excited to have Jeff join us this year!

An annual membership to the Boundary Waters Musky Club is $10 for an individual or $15 for a family. Dinner will be provided for all members around 5 p.m. CST, and new members who sign up that day will be welcome to stay. Rooms will be available at a discounted rate at the Econolodge (906) 776-8000.

Any questions on the event can be directed to BWMC Vice President Benji Wood at (906) 221-7982.
