Murray's ramp hours
What are the closed times again?? Has anyone ever fished beyond the posted times and not been ticketed, or does anyone care if you are parked there beyond the closing time? Bruce

There is no set times at the Murray acess sites, in the designated parking areas.

Last time we were there I read the sign. It was at the east ramp. Why was it put there then? It does have times on it. :?

Self interest is for the past, common interest is for the future.

hours of op
If there is a obscure sign somewhere there or was there, I can assure you that the hours of operation or regulation is not enforced at Murray lake; its only for Locations with after dark problems, like late night drinking and doppers hanging out like at campau....There its checked once in awhile...

Signs such as Muskie Medic is referring to are common. Local townships use them as a tool because most townships do not have funding for law staff. In our area this allows the roaming patrol sheriff department or state police to step in and use their discretion as needed. Be careful though. These sites are cases where a minority few trouble makers (non-fishers) can ruin things for everyone. One township may understand well the anglers mean no harm, but another township controlled by rich lakefront isolationist may use the signs to violate the "Public Trust" access to the water.

Everyone was out of the east parking lot by 10:15 or so. Very little light left to the west. I did not drive down the hill to see about the west lot. I'll look again in the next couple of days.

afterdark
I fish out there alot after dark into the wee hours, never had a problem...
The Dnr did some upkeep this week on the ramps and did reshuffle somethings, there is a sign with posted hours on the east side again, but like i said in earlier posts, you would have no problem as long as you are out fishing and not causing problems or creating a disturbance...fyi..
