Banquet.

Post by Cyberlunge »

So for those that missed it here is a recap...

There was lots of awesome merchandise and alot of it went pretty reasonable. Trevor even got himself a new Musky toilet seat that is sure to be a hit at the homestead

There were a lot of great prizes at the raffles, awesome auction items and I would say all in all it was a great success. I got to meet a few more people and put some faces with the names, Hamilton, Lemay, Bob Dyer, The Kid (of course) to name a few. The only bad thing is that now I have to take Schultz out fishing this year and put on a clinic for him. So if you missed it plan on being there next year, If you have to spend money on equipment or trips this is the place to do it since much more of your money will go to buying fish and supporting the thing that, you as a musky angler, want to do.

I want to personally thank all the people involved for their hard work throughout the year as this does not happen all by itself. Chad, Trevor (Vanna), Will, Joe Bednar and everyone who donated goods or services. I know I have missed many but they are all appreciated, also the DNR and the auctioneers (they were hilarious!) and we had good roads for the most part.

Mostly thanks to the people who consistently contribute to the betterment of the club and the fishery through your service and dedication. I thank you and the fish thank you.

Kevin

I had a good time and as usual learned more tidbits of muskie information both from the DNR and MMA members. Each year I get to place a screen name with a face.

The DNR put on a detailed PPoint presentation of the muskie culture program, the challenges for year 2007, and long term future. The DNR also covered the VHS disease topic. The DNR-MMA cooperation is a model for all muskie organizations to follow. They both understand well how important this is when funding is scarce.

I learned much from the MMA members. Plan A was to blow my allowance which was easy enough. Plan B was to back up to plan A if I didn't win the baits I needed. That included careful examination of spinner constructions. One member came over and gave me some more tips on construction. Thanks.

I said this last year, but next year make sure all attendants have name tags with screen name & real name. There were two members I needed to say hi to and missed.

I gave my membership donation to MMA which will used directly for fall fingerling production. That money is well spent. Thanks.

I'm looking forward to being on the water with you and your hetero lifemate.

Awesome job once again by those involved. Chad, Joe, Ron/Heather, Tim D, Tim M, Trevor, Chris, Brian S, Fred, Kid Coulson, Mike S. Thanks again to the DNR for their support and always making time for MMA. Most importantly, thanks to my wife without her support and understanding we probably wouldn't have MMA.

I'm not sure what lure you're talking about.

Great job by all who continue to make the MMA banquet and the club a success.

Will, you are correct on our wives being important with the support they have shown.

I am not sure how many he makes, but the last two years at the Chicago show, he sells out on Friday early... He might make to order, or get you on the waiting list as he makes batches.

I would definitely like to thank everyone for their assistance in pulling this together again. Most everyone who has contributed has been named, but thanks again to Will, Joe, Tim D, Tim M, Vanna, I mean Trev (the auctioneer stole my pet name), Chris, Ron, Heather (special thanks), Brian, Pete, Duke, Ellyn, Fred... Hope I am not forgetting anyone... It is this team who made it happen.

Thanks to all the donors & sponsors.

Thanks to all who attended, and spent money!

I am officially retiring from Banquet Coordinator position, and Trevor has agreed to carry the baton. It has been a lot of fun, and a lot of work, but we have come quite a long way. I will be around to assist in some way, but I will be looking to sit back and enjoy the coming events.
