Hey Brandon,
Virtually all the southern Michigan muskie fishing has been provided by the DNR's stocking program. Go to www.michigandnr.com/fishstock/ and select muskellunge. It takes about 7 or 8 years for the faster-growing females to reach 42 inches from the time that they are stocked in the fall at 10"-12". Some lakes are better than others but they should all have some decent fishing.

Belleville lost a lot of its fish over the dam making a unique fishery. There is decent fishing in the river even below Flat Rock. The DNR confirmed in a survey that the fish below these dams were indeed the ones stocked in Belleville.
Self interest is for the past, common interest is for the future.

Inland lakes
I will get out to Belleville Lake this spring, and scout it out. It's only about 30 minutes from my house. I was there a couple years ago and raised a couple smaller fish, perhaps they've grown up a bit by now?
I doubt they get much direct pressure, as I don't think anyone really fishes for muskies there.
