Split ring Pliers

Post by Charlie Williams »

Ok its time for some new pliers. Tell me what your favorite pair is and where you got them. I have a mickey mouse pair and a pair of berkey's. I like the $3.50 mickey mouse ones better than the berkleys. Chad do you want another pair of berkleys for the swap? LOL

Splitring Pliers

Hi Charlie. I use Splitring Pliers every day. I have a couple of nice ones . They are off set and work far better than the ones where the jaws meet together. I got mine at Stamina components. Kingfisher

I don't use them as much as Kingfisher but when fishing my split ring pliers get a workout. I've tried a bunch and the two I like the best are...

Rapala has a couple that you can get at most Gander stores. I've got a couple pairs of these and I like them as much as any others I've used. I use the 8.5" set not the 6.5".

There is a decent set that you can get through Rollie & Helen's (order the large set).

Just be sure to limit their use as a split ring plier only. I broke one of each last year while using them to bend a hook. I guess I didn't learn the first time...

I have some from a company called Coast and I really like them, they also do some similar to the Rapala style for about the same price.
